When security makes you feel less secure
May 20th, 2006
I went to a movie tonight at
I understand the police presence is there because of some past problems with the movie theater, best viagra there but having all those armed officers actually made me feel more concerned about the security situation.
When you see that many cops in one place, cialis you have to assume they’re needed and that sends a sad message about the ongoing security situation at Mayfair.

Elliot, it’s more of a sad commentary on society at large. This is happening in more and more cities. Up here in Green Bay, they’ve cancelled the teen night at the park by the lake, due to problems in the last few years. There seems to be no societal norms of behavior enforced anymore. It the “if it feels good, do it” mentality. No limits.

The people causing problems at Mayfair are not just ordinary teens trying to have fun. They are thugs who are trying to spoil the atmosphere for everyone else at the mall.

There were three cops at a town hall meeting yesterday with my State Sen. Tim Carpenter and State Rep. Josh Zepnick at Zablocki library.
I think they were just there to hobnob with the public, but, now that you mention it . . .

stuff like this always makes me think of the simpsons line from the Duff Gardens show
“Duff Gardens where roving gangs are no longer a problem”
I think Mayfair has gotten better but the real answer is to do what malls like Mall of America do ban the little monsters after a set time they cannot come in without a parent.
Or do what we Waukesha people do go to Brookfield Square ;)

I normally don’t get too worried unless they’re wearing S.W.A.T. gear. Honestly, though, it would make me less worried to see a 4-pack of police officers when the alternative is “not having a 4-pack of police officers.”
