Too many blogging get-togethers are tearing me apart

June 12th, 2007

I won’t be at Drinking Right tonight, best viagra no rx because I’ll be attending the Citizens Blogging Summit on Friday.

I just hope the organizers will remember that not every blog is a political blog or “plog.”

There are “vlogs” – also known as video logs.

There are “flogs” – fake blogs started by companies to try to get better search engine placement and sell more crap.

There are “slogs” – blogs written by troops fighting in Iraq.

And “bogs” – blogs written by liberals about the same war.

And, malady of course, “clogs” – which I believe are blogs written by and for plumbers.

Anyway, I’ll be at the Citizen’s Blogging Summit on Friday. I hope to see some of you there.

I dedicated an entire panel to non-political weblogs. And I hope to guide the discussion past stale topics from previous gatherings. The media landscape is richer than finding ways to push a political agenda (however well intentioned) with new technology.

One more thing, if it turns into a partisan bitchfest I will have failed as a moderator.

Sigh. You go to all that trouble to write bad puns and then someone goes and takes you seriously. ;)

I thought clogs were by Dutch people.

    Possibly, Nick.

Or maybe they’re written by heart surgeons?

[…] “Elliot Sterns” will be at the Citizens Blogging Summit. And he’s skipping Drinking Right to do it. That’s dedication. […]

Oops. I was in defensive mode.

I’m with Nick. I thought a clog was something that gave you blisters….OR….keeps the water from going down the drain. :/
