The first pistol I ever owned was one of these…
my first pistol
…and some nights I still miss having it as a paperweight.

As you can see, I’m considerably older than Fuzz. ;)

And you have better taste in “first pistols.” :D
My second and third pistols are much better.

At least my second and third pistols are better than my first.

The Model 39 was considered unreliable because it would sometimes choke on loads other than ball, but I still loved the way it felt.
My second gun was a Colt 1911 chambered in 9mm (don’t ask me what the hell I was thinking) and then a Taurus that was a rip-off of the classic Beretta cut-slide design.
I don’t own any of those pistols anymore.
Now you’re making me want to go out and get something new. ;)

My first was a Smith 6906, second generation 9mm.
I sold it years ago, but recently picked up another one in a fit of nostalgia. =)

I’m not a fan of double-action automatics, but I always liked the way the Smiths shot.
I really wanted a 669 for a while back in the 80s because I borrowed one and it shot like it was part of my arm.
(I had a similar experience recently with a Kimber Stainless Steel Carry in .45. I really, really want one, but I hear there’s some reliability issues?)

I always slept with a bed under my pillow. Maybe that’s why I’m so much better adjusted than you. :)

Have you ever tried to defend yourself from a mugger with a box spring, Cap?
(The hard part is carrying it concealed. ;)
