Five very good things that will happen if Barack Obama wins the Whitehouse
October 1st, 2008
- The House and/or Senate will flip Republican within six years.
- Hillary Clinton will never be President.
- Jim Doyle will leave Wisconsin to become U.S. Attorney General.
- The mainstream media will remember that their job includes criticizing Democrats.
- I’ll have plenty to blog about.

All good points, but how will the country endure 4 years (or 8) of legislated socialism?

Based on the most recent events, and Palin’s performance of late, I believe it’s actually not “if” any more… it is “when”.
Either Palin is really going to have to turn it around in a HUGE way on Thurdsday or there will have to be a substantial October surprise, for the election to go to McCain.

And to answer “The Chad”…
They’re already trying to implement legislated socialism under Bush with this bailout being the first step. So how will Obama be that much different?
One of two things will happen as a result of this econcomic bailout. Either it will be used as a platform to continue the socialization (in which case Bush really did start it) or Congress may actually decide we can’t afford to do anything else for a while in which case we won’t have to worry to much (at least in the macro sense).

Agreed, Nick.
If Palin completely self-destructs tomorrow night, McCain loses.
(Unless something completely unexpected happens between now and the election.)

Hoping for the unexpected isn’t that great a plan…
I think the House or Senate would flip in two, with all of Congress in six. Too much power in one place gets us stuff like housing for everyone – and we know where that ended up!
