Licensing speach?

I’m against abortion, buy viagra sovaldi sale so you might think I’d be in favor or states issuing “Choose Life” license plates.

But just because I like the message, best cialis nurse doesn’t mean I’m a fan of the messenger.

It’s not a State’s role to privilege one message over another.

Because people petition to get these messages adopted, it basically puts a State in the position of deciding which speech is acceptable and which is not.

That’s not a power I’m comfortable granting any government.

What do moms and religion have in common?

In a post criticizing James Cameron‘s claim to have found Christ’s tomb, viagra canada viagra Milwaukee blogger and radio personality, sales James Harris wrote:

“Upon reading Cameron‚Äôs tripe I immediately thought of Rob Bell and his book Velvet Elvis. Bell asks the question: ‚ÄúWhat if the life of Christ turned out to be a hoax; would it ruin your faith?‚Äù

It‚Äôs a good question to ponder, recipe but someone telling me Jesus is a hoax is like someone telling me that my mom isn’t real. It‚Äôs more than a little difficult to take seriously.”

At the risk of incurring the wrath of James Harris, a man I have great respect for, I need to point out that every day people discover that the women they think of as their mothers aren’t their “real” moms.

In fact, I think religions are adopted by believers in much the same way that women adopt children. Some people adopt Christianity, some Islam, some Hinduism, some Wicca. But the fact that they adopt a particular religion makes it no more the “truth” than a woman adopting a child makes her that child’s creator.

(Please don’t leave a comment telling me that adopted moms are just as real as birth mothers. Yes, moms who adopt are worthy of all the same respect accorded a birth mother, but they are not a child’s “real” mother in the same sense as the woman who conceived them. Also, this post should not be construed as implying that James Harris was adopted. Although, I’m sure plenty of people would have been happy to do so. He’s as cute as the dickens.)

Photographs like these beg the question…

…is the beauty in the¬† subject or in the eyes of the photographers?

Here’s a question for you:

Is throwing an apple core onto a grassy side of the road littering?

And should it be?

Registration does not equal confiscation

I don’t like gun control.

It pisses me off that the legislative and judicial branches have worked hand-in-hand to deprive me of my constitutional (and basic human) right to protect myself.

That said, viagra generic troche it depresses the hell out of me that I find myself on Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett‘s side in the argument between him and Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner about Congress’s attempt to stop the ATF from helping local authorities trace gun sales.

I think we should do a much better job of tracking guns in this country. Just like I think we should be able to tell exactly who’s voting, I think we should be able to tell exactly who is responsible for any particular gun.

I’m pretty sure my dog thinks I’m crazy

As I bent over yesterday to retrieve the “fertilizer” my dog had just deposited on a neighbor’s lawn, viagra cheap I could swear he looked at me as if I’d lost my mind.

I think he wonders why I keep following him around picking up what he puts down.

Am I starting a collection?

Do I keep it in a scrapbook?

I swear I think I actually heard him mumble under his breath…
“dude, viagra sales physician you spent six months yelling at me whenever I left one of those on the carpet and now you spend all your time following me around, picking the stuff up and carrying it home? Let’s elminate the middleman and I’ll go back to leaving it in the living room. What do ya say?”

When it comes to free speech, I’m a Nazi.

When I was a young man I was a fervent liberal.

I was a liberal because I believed with all my heart what Evelyn Beatrice Hall said in 1906:

“I disapprove of what you say, generic viagra unhealthy but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

One of the main reasons I am no longer a liberal is because liberals turned their back on that belief years ago…as evidenced by their embracing of politically correct speech, cialis their elevation of feelings above freedom of expression, and this weekend’s protest against the Nazis who spoke in Madison.

The question I have to ask is who was acting more like fascists: the Nazi’s exercising their freedom of speech, or the crowd who would have gladly suppressed it?
