A peso for my thoughts?

January 8th, 2007

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane wants to know what conservative commentators might say about a Texas pizza chain allowing customers to pay for their pizzas in Pesos.

How ’bout:

It’s nice to see them bringing money into the country for a change.*

Seriously…most conservatives don’t hate other countries or people from other countries, discount cialis cialis we object to ILLEGAL immigration. Why is that difference so difficult to understand?

*In case you don’t get the joke, Mexican immigrants (both legal and illegal) are known for sending money BACK to Mexico.

Do Canadians complain about businesses excepting both Canadian and American dollars?

I do believe that only the US Dollar is legal tender within the US.

This basically amounts to bartering, except you replace the chickens with worthless coins.

Not true, i know some businesses in Maine except Canadian currency. I worked at a few retail locations and we had the conversion right there at the register.

So long as sales tax is being charged and income is reported, nobody in the government is really going to bat an eye anyway.

The touristy areas in Mexico accept US dollars, because, well, they are touristy areas and tourists spend money. A pizza joint, no matter where it is located is NOT a touristy place. :/
