Vlogging vs. blogging.

June 19th, 2008

A blogger for Reuters ponders whether video blogging will replace plain old text blogging.

I don’t think it will.

Videos are becoming more popular on the net. But watching a video takes a fixed amount of time. Text blogs allow you to scan and read as fast as your eyes can move. And producing a decent video is still way more time consuming than pounding out a couple of interesting thoughts on a keyboard.

Video has it’s place, viagra order but vlogging won’t be replacing blogging for most people anytime soon.

“And producing a decent video is still way more time consuming than pounding out a couple of interesting thoughts on a keyboard.”

    Two thoughts…

    1) A “decent” video isn’t necessary
    2) Maybe more time invested in “pounding out a couple of interesting thoughts” is something needed

Both of which I point out based entirely on the quality of my own blogging/vlogging. For some reason, people keep visiting. It’s like I’m the Taco Bell of the blogosphere!

Not to mention that many bloggers have a face for radio. Vid-blogging would be too cruel…

I’ve got a face that was just made for television…
