The best song ever from a Milwaukee artist

Some people might argue for Closer to Free by the Bodeans or maybe Blister in the Sun by the Violent Femmes, cialis generic generic but – while I like both – few songs anywhere can compare to the nearly perfectly written and performed Watercolor by Willy Porter.

Aren’t pop songs supposed to be two minutes, 30 seconds long?

I took the love of my life to see David Gray last night.

It was OK.

But I really want to know who told him that the average length of all his songs should be the same as Freebird.

Pandora’s Boom Box

Have you guys seen/heard Pandora yet?

It’s an internet “radio station” based on the Music Genome Project.

You tell the site the name of an artist you like and it creates a custom stream of music from artists similar to the one you named (based on 400 different points of similarity).

It’s easier to listen to than it is to explain. Go check it out.

(For some additional coolness click on one of the song icons as or after it plays.)

Prediction: Apple will buy or steal this idea and incorporate it into iTunes within a year. If they don’t, viagra generic cheap they should.

Music you need to know

A few songs everyone should be familiar with:

Afternoons and Coffeespoons by The Crash Test Dummies.

Watercolor by Willy Porter.

Three Babies by Sinead O’Connor.

Only Want to be with You by Hootie and the Blowfish.
