Yes, I do consider it a crime against humanity

August 26th, 2008

I saw three Miatas at a local car dealership this morning and they were ALL automatics.

Now, discount cialis viagra I can’t drive a stick anymore, but that doesn’t mean I can’t recognize a crime when I see one.

A man driving a Miata is a crime in itself.

Spoken like a man who has never driven one!

There’s a reason it’s been on Car & Driver’s Ten Best list 9 times. (Including the last three years in a row.)

In terms of pure driving fun, no other car even comes close.

    So there!

I’ve pulled along side Miatas in the Boxster and thought… warum?

    Warum nicht?

A Boxster is a great car, don’t get me wrong.

But it’s also more than twice as much moola.

I’ve never owned a Boxster, but I have owned a 350Z and a BMW and neither was anywhere near as much fun to drive as my two Miatas have been.

For one thing, in the Z you’re breaking the law in second gear. (Which I think would be true in the Boxster as well, since it’s numbers are almost exactly the same as the Z’s).

In a Miata, you can run almost all the gears between almost every stop light. (Which is an absolute blast.)

Plus, nothing corners like an MX-5.

I’d give a lot to be able to drive my first Miata again. Sure, it looked like a Barbie toy, but I had a grin on my face every time I got out of it.

Well, I know that Miata owners love them for a reason, but this statement…

Sure, it looked like a Barbie toy

…was the reason for my first comment. :D

I gotta get outta the public sector or something. I can’t afford any of thee cars. A new Miata, even, would set me back more than I paid for my last two cars. All three cars I even owned, if you count the fact that my first–an 85 Cavalier Wagon hand-me-down–was a graduation gift.

Don’t you have a Prius, Jay? I thought those were a bundle?

No, I have a Scion. I drove a rental Prius for a few weeks after I smashed the mess out of it by smacking into a guy on I-43.
