Whenever I see a sign…

…that says “War is not the answer, viagra sales and ” I think to myself, “it depends on what the question is.”

For example, “war” is a great answer if the question happens to be, “how do you stop Hitler from killing Jews?” Or “how do you free the slaves in America?”

Good questions, both. How about the question, how do we keep radicals from blowing up our skyscrapers and killing innocent victims simply because we have different beliefs…

Or “how do you motivate a lazy liberal?” (other possible answers: elect a conservative, offend a puppy, cut taxes.)

That kind of reminds me of the Protest Warrior sign

In Big Print” War Never Solves Anything”

    in small print
“except stopping slavery, fascism, communism Nazism etc ”

I am sure there are a lot of people in Danfur that wish the US would bring war to their region

I for one am sick of this never ending occupation US troops out of Germany and Japan 63 years of this never ending occupation brought to us by a evil Democratic illegal regime(Roosevelt was a SOB who should never have run a third time) It is time we made a stand.

[…] Elliot (and commenters) explode the “War is not the answer” line of Bravo Sierra. […]

War IS ugly and who really wants it … but there are some who simply understand nothing else but brute force. Try to sit down and “talk” with them and they’ll have your head chopped off before you get your sentence completed.

In our war on terror, we’re just fighting them on their own level – and everyone should be thankful that its on their own turf, not ours.

Seems so elementary, yet idiots like those that support this line of thinking just seem incapable of “getting it”. Or the just like to be big mouths and think it’s “cool” to protest. Idiots.

Good post, Elliott. I agree 100%

Chris, which war was it that defeated Communism? I may have missed that one.

  • 7. Chris  |  June 30th, 2008 at 7:53 am

Last time I checked South Korea was still not a communist state and I believe the threat of a hot war kept the Soviets on their their side of Europe.

I know people like you celebrate our defeat in Vietnam but even that was not a military defeat it was a lack of will on our nations part militarily the Communist never won a major battle even Tet was actually a massive defeat for the Communist.

Oh wait I remembered another time Communism was defeated, the Greece Civil war the Communist lost that one(right after WW2)

With that I will declare victory once again over you Grumps

  • 8. Chris  |  June 30th, 2008 at 7:53 am

Oh and for the record the Chris in number one is not me it is a different Chris :)

  • 9. Chris  |  June 30th, 2008 at 7:55 am

Wait Grumps thought of another one Malaysia(at least I think it was Malaysia) the British SAS fought a very bitter and brutal counter insurgency war against communist rebels and defeated them in the 1950’s

  • 10. Tim  |  July 1st, 2008 at 10:14 am

Nope. Grumps is accurate. Those you cited, Chris, were individual flareups. Which war (in it’s entirety … you know, the BIG picture) defeated communism?

I know people like you celebrate our defeat in Vietnam ….

That is just a plain stupid thing to write.

  • 11. Chris  |  July 1st, 2008 at 12:28 pm

Did you say something Tim I sure hope not since you know I could care less what you think, do say etc.

  • 12. Tim  |  July 1st, 2008 at 12:42 pm

That you actually take the time to question whether I said anything, Chris, then hope that it’s not true implies that you do reserve an inkling of caring what I have to say and think.

    You’re so especially clueless.

You are the one who goes around stalking my comments Tim when is the last time I commented on something you wrote here or anywhere else?

  • 14. Tim  |  July 1st, 2008 at 8:45 pm

That you continue to respond is fun in and of itself. It’s so easy!

btw: I don’t look for you, but I do enjoy seeing your comments. Thanks for the laughs.

Darn, I missed an obvious retort to Chris. Go back to Chris’ last comment at 4:02 pm on July 1st. The obvious answer to his question was: “Er, 4 hours and 32 minutes ago.”

Ok … back to the real world. Bye.

  • 16. Chris  |  July 2nd, 2008 at 10:56 am

glad I can bring a little joy in to your pathetic little version of a life Tim.

  • 17. Tim  |  July 2nd, 2008 at 11:37 am

    Thanks again for the laugh.
