What’s next? Arresting football players for butt slapping on the field?

July 25th, 2007

According to ABC News

“Two middle-school students in Oregon are facing possible time in a juvenile jail and could have to register as sex offenders for smacking girls on the rear end at school. …
…The boys spent five days in a juvenile detention facility and were charged with several counts of felony sex abuse for what they and their parents said was merely inappropriate but not criminal behavior.”

Why are the police even involved in this?

Behavior like this is reason to be sent to the principal’s office, discount cialis physician not jail.

The prosecutor is lucky I don’t live in Oregon, because I’d be slapping him in the head for bringing this case to court.

They will also have to register as sex offenders… which will follow them for the rest of their lives.

And they’re 13! They’re just trying to figure sex out and instead of being helped to understand more appropriate ways to express themselves they’re being lumped in with rapists and child molesters. Our sense of proportion has completely went to hell in the last 50 years.

I mean honestly… if we’re going to start charging 13 year olds as sex offenders for grabbing asses because they ought to be adult enough to know better, then they should also be able to drink legally so they have an excuse.

Law and order, folks. Zero tolerance and what does it get ya?

Do not misunderstand me. This is not Right/Left blamethrowing. There’s plenty of stupid in this fight on both sides.
