What do liberals mean when they say they want a “fair” government?

February 18th, 2006

Two kids on a Saturday.

One sits around playing video games.

The other cuts the neighbor’s lawn and earns $20.

When the hard-working child gets home, cialis sale sale his mother takes half the money and gives it to the kid who sat around playing video games.

When the industrious child asks why?

The mother says, viagra canada “because it’s only fair.”

Of course, every kid on the planet would recognize that it’s the opposite of fair.

Until they grow up and become liberals.

This is the liberal definition of fair . . . how?

Oh, I’d agree in a heartbeat that it’s the conservatives’ cariacature of what liberals might deem fair. If you’re content to deal in cariacatures, then, you know, that’s your business. When you want to talk policy and ideology, give me a call.

    Hey Jay,

Sorry, if you feel that was below the belt.

But as an old liibertarian, I don’t think government should be in the business of redistributing wealth at all.

Even in a more “deserving” situation than the one I admittedly set up.

Kind of reminds me of a joke. A barber is doing community service and is giving out free harcuts. On day one a Minister gets a haircut and when he goes to pay the barber refuses payment. The next day a Bible is delivered to the barber with a thank you note.

The next day a Republican comes in and the same thing happens. The day after the Republican sends a thank you note and book on how to run a great small business.

The next day a democrat comes in and gets a free haircut. The next day 50 Democrats are lined up at the door waiting for him to open.

For this scenario, simply replace the children with adults in professions such as teaching, automotive industry, aviation, etc.
