Tomkat? Brangelina? Beniffer?

Why are we referring to lame celebrity couples by combining their two first names?

We don’t do this in real life.

You don’t refer to your Mom and Dad as Mad. (Well, best viagra there you might. But I know better.)

We didn’t call Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall “Lumphrey.”

We didn’t consider Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy to be “Kancer.”

Maybe it’s time to start referring to people like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes as “Tom & Katie.”

Or, better yet, let’s stop referring to them all together.
