I think most good things cross political boundaries, Tim.

Love of family, good music, great books, and hope for the future.

As much as I love the Internet, I think it’s done our political discourse an incredible amount of damage. It’s too easy to demonize each other from across our keyboards.

I think you’d be shocked by how much you’d enjoy talking to even the people you dislike the most on these blogs if you were sitting across from them with a drink in your hand.

I wouldn’t be shocked at all. I’ve written the same thing, and I’m guilty of falling for the allure of the easy slam.

I have met a few of you and shared drinks. Though I disagree strongly with Owen, James, Dean, Aaron — even you (yes, we met), I find them likeable individuals. Unfortunately, there are a few others I’ve met whom I continue to hold disdain for — oh well, such is life.

    Dude! We’ve met? When?

I’m sorry, I must not have known it was you.

I’m really looking forward to meeting Capper some day, too.

It was at one of the early blogger conferences — at Marquette. McAdams sat in the front on the left — the panel consisted of Fraley, McBride, Sykes and one other. I came with Michael Mathias — we actually met James Wigderson at the local Starbucks. The three of us attended UWM together. It was fun getting reacquainted. James was hilarious then, one of my favorite conservatives on campus (well, only one). I knew Michael because we had both written for the UWM Post.

Anyway, I was introduced to you. Our conversation was brief. I thought you looked at me a little suspiciously. Of course, I’d look at me that way, too. ;)
