This really gets my goat cheese.

July 20th, 2007

A friend dragged me to lunch on the fashionable east side, sildenafil levitra today.

It reminded me how much I hate eating foods I don’t recognize.

It also made me wonder… why do some people persist in believing that goat cheese is not only edible, but somehow preferable to cow cheese?

Probably because they’ve had feta on Greek-style burgers and omelettes and in Greek salads and have found goat cheese perfectly edible and perfectly right for the application. Carrying that to the extreme is typical of the fashionable east side.

Feta cheese is good if it is properly made. I have never found a feta worth a damn that wasn’t made in Greece. The American and European versions are nasty concoctions.

First off, who the hell decided the east side was so damn “fashionable?”

    Second, two words: Pecorino Romano.

Grew up with it. Wouldn’t trade it for any other.
And I love cheese. Cow or otherwise.

Peccorino Romano is the food of the gods. Esp. with strawberries at breakfast. Btw yes, I did learn that in Milan
