The war is over!

January 17th, 2008

It’s been an occupation for quite a while now.

Please alter your rhetoric accordingly.

Somehow, “Stop the occupation” doesn’t quite have the same ring of urgency.

I think I’ll stick with “Stop the war!”

Not sure what xoff’s deal is but I agree with calling this an occupation. Well, sort of. We are not a hostile army because we are not occupying Iraq in the same way Germany occupied France in WWI and WWII nor is it the same as France’s occupation of Algeria. In both cases Germany and France were hostile. I would argue that we are not hostile because we are not directly governing the state through the use of our military. Sure we have a hand in Iraqs politics but we are not in control of them.

    Hey, Xoff!
I thought you had retired from the Cheddarsphere. Nice to see you still around looking for trouble. ;)
