The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel chides us for “misunderstanding” Islam.

May 4th, 2006

The editorial writers at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel just can’t understand how Americans can have a negative view of Islam.

They note:

A Washington Post-ABC News poll in early March showed negative views of Islam have grown and that many Americans believe that Islam encourages violence against non-Muslims.

They go on to say:

Let us suggest that misperceptions abound precisely because so does much ignorance.

I’d like to offer an alternative explanation.

Perhaps it isn’t ignorance, viagra generic check but knowledge that makes so many Americans disagree with the Journal Sentinel’s assertion that “real” Islam is just an innocent victim of American ignorance.

The knowledge that:

  • The legitimate ISLAMIC leaders of Iran called for Salman Rushdie to be murdered for having the gall tor write a novel that could be seen as critical of Islam.
  • The murderers who caused 9/11 did so with “Allah’s” name on their lips.
  • Every day innocents in Iraq and Israel are being killed by ISLAMIC suicide bombing martyrs.
  • Theo van Gogh was murdered by an offended Muslim.
  • Hundreds died in the riots over CARTOONS of Mohammed.
  • The legitimate muslims in Afghanistan wanted to kill a man for renouncing Islam in favor of Christianity.

Instead of questioning why so many Americans think Islam is a religion that encourages hatred and violence, sick perhaps the Journal Sentinel should be asking why so many Muslims seem to embrace hatred and violence in the name of their religion.

Maybe if someone at the JS READ the Koran? Not Islam lite available in the US, but one translated from the original Arabic? There are many sura’s (verses) that call for the death of the infidel if he won’t convert or pay the “poll tax” also called the jizya. Also, infidels testimony in court is not valid. I believe a womans testimony is only half as valid as a man. Also the repression of women, or the “honor killing” of women who sullied the family’s honor in some way. Sounds like the educated idiots at the JS haven’t done their homework. Or they’re outright liars. No, that couldn’t be. Could it?

I vote for “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” principle. Remember, we on the right are The Main Enemy of the likes of O. Ricardo Pimentel.

    I vote for stupidity.

I vote for blaming the masses for the crimes of the few.

I vote for thse who blindly follow the murderous policies of their leaders, without taking a stand against those same policies.

I vote for the evangelical christians, being led away from salvation by crooks and liars in their midst.

Oh, sorry … that’s not who you were talking about. Nevermind.

Tim – Funny – but that’s what he was talking about
stupidity is putting forth a PC agenda while ignoring what’s really happening .

Blaming the masses for the crimes of the few
Maybe – but why aren’t those Islamic masses condemming the crimes of those few?

I vote for those who blindly follow the murderous policies of their leaders, without taking a stand against those same policies.
Are we talking about the followers of leaders like Osama Bin Laden and Saddam?

I vote for the evangelical christians, being led away from salvation by crooks and liars in their midst.
Who’s defending them? No one. I think that’s the point here.
