The men carrying firearms to Obama protests are within their rights…

…but I’m concerned the practice is going to spark a backlash against the right to bear arms.

They may be within their rights, but it seems unnecessary. The message is already getting across.

I’m definitely a fan of free speech and this is really just an example of that. However wise people know when to keep their mouths shut.

Except the REALLY disingenuous folks at CNN failed to mention the simple fact that the man carrying the gun was a protester on Obama’s side. The people around him were SEIU thugs and protesting insurance companies. The protesters against ObamaCare were 2 blocks away.

I’m a fan of “open carry” events some clubs put on from time to time, but timing is everything.

There are better venues for exposing people to lawfully carried firearms, that’s for sure.

I remember those heady days of 2002 when anti-war protesters were out with their assault rifles saying, “We will forcefully resist people imposing their will on us through the strength of the majority with a vote.” Those were the days!

    Double standards.
Funny that no one complained when the Black Panthers sported rifles in 2000. Guess it’s only scary when non-Democrats carry guns.
