The funniest thing…

June 1st, 2007

…about a lesbian suing eHarmony for discrimination is that eHarmony is in the business of discrimination.

eHarmony is all about eliminating people from dating consideration based on things they have no control over: their height, cialis usa tadalafil eye-color, sildenafil sales baldness, age, etc…

So, basically, this lady wants eHarmony to stop discriminating against her, so she can have the opportunity to discriminate against a bunch of other people in her search for a romantic partner.

Romantic? Or ironic?

It also has wider impacts if the suit is one. For instance, there are sites that cater specifcially to Jewish people (J-Date, where a friend of mine met his now wife), and I’m willing to bet there are sites that cater specifically to homosexuals to the exclusion of heterosexuals. Will they have to now accept heterosexual people too?

This is just like the case here in Wisconsin where a health club that catered specifically to women was forced to shut down because it violated anti-discrimination laws.

    Talk about stupid.

I agree completely with your wider point, Nick.

Also stupid is my use of the word one instead of won. I’m surprised any college was willing to give me a diploma sometimes.

Eharmony has always rubbed me the wrong way! Thanks for letting me know I’m not the only one.
