Someone got politics in my video game!

I’ve been playing World of Warcraft’s Wrath of the Lich King expansion and I’ve noticed some pretty odd politics:

A militant version of PETA called D.H.E.T.A. that encourages you to cut the ears off poachers.

There are fields full of oil-covered animals.

And one quest has you torturing a man using electrical shocks to save another person.

Now, best viagra cheap I can’t actually tell what conclusion you’re supposed to draw from these various elements. For example, recipe the torture quest makes you feel horrible (the guy begs you to stop), but it’s the only way to save one of the “good guys.”

What conclusion an I supposed to draw from that?

Torture is good?

Torture is bad?

Video games have moved way past pong?

(On the other hand, pong did involve wacking an innocent dot with a paddle, so maybe things haven’t changed that much after all.)
