Some things I believed when I was a child, but don’t seem to be true anymore

April 12th, 2007

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights meant just what they said ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú no more and no less. (I still believe this. Unfortunately, buy cialis remedy the courts don’t.)

Politicians knew what they were doing.

Bad people always got what they deserved in the end.

If it was in the newspaper it had to be true.

You were responsible for your own actions. (Another one I still believe, despite what our culture tries to tell me.)

It’s a free country.

I still believe that. We mere humans may not always be able to witness ultimate justice.

I’m not a religious man, Aaron, but my understanding is that if you except Christ you are saved by grace no matter how evil the acts you may have committed.

It’s one of the places where religion and I part company.

I find so much joy and relief in that unconditional love God offers us. Thank God, literally, because my evil acts are just as evil as everyone else’s, yet he still offers me forgiveness.

I’m not trying to proselytize, really, but that joy is pretty profound.

The first one all depends on what your definition of the word “said,” means! ;)

As usual, I agree with Jenna.
