Remember when the talk of Fred Thompson entering the Republican race…

…was taken as a sign of discord and disarray in the Republican Party?

Why isn’t speculation about Al Gore being a surprise nominee for the Democrats¬†fueling the same sort of talk about their party?

    Because “discord and disarray” is the normal state of the Democratic party; why would anyone talk about the status quo?

    I suspect because there really isn’t any chance that Gore might be the nominee. Thompson, on the other hand, had an opportunity.

    Come November, BobG, we’ll see who is in disarray.
