Remember when “fender bender” meant minor accident?
When I was young, cialis sales online the dinosaurs we rode came equipped with bumpers that could handle a head-on collision with a brontosaurus.
For years now, and I’ve been complaining about the plastic pieces of crap modern car manufacturers try to pass off as bumpers; nowadays, a scratch on a bumper will cost you $900.
So I wasn’t surprised when the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety proved that modern bumpers are good for nothing except bumping up your repair bill:
In crash tests at speeds of three and six miles an hour some cars sustained damage that would cost thousands of dollars to fix….The reasons for the high cost? Formerly one-piece steel bumpers are now integrated into the vehicle’s front-end design, in part because new rules don’t require bumpers to be as strong and protective. That means consumers wind up paying thousands of dollars to fix damage from even a minor collision.
They are BUMPERS. They are needed because people bump into things. Don’t tell me we can’t make bumpers that can withstand six-mile-per-hour crashes and/or cost hardly anything to replace.
