After reading through all of those responses, it looks like the extreme aggressive responses come from the Taliban and the Islamic Defenders Front.

Neither of which have ever been classified as peaceful. Most responses are either merely condemning the act, asking the pastor to not go through with it, or calling for a ban on it.

Do you think a person would get a better response if they organized a massive Bible burning?

Maybe a December 25th Bible burning outcry through social media sites would be a good satirical response. Besides, it’s cold in December. The warmth of the fires would do everybody well.

All organized religions bring out the irrational and illogical emotions in people. It is not limited to any particular one.

Remember, Obama is the one who warned about violent reactions from Muslims. Would you tell him he’s overreacting or misinterpreting?

And, as an agnostic, I think I have enough perspective to say I’m really not afraid of hardcore Christians cutting my head off, stoning me, or blowing me up on the subway.

Elliot, your claim might make more sense if you’d actually ever done anything that would inflame hardcore Christians.

Check out this guy, who offended Catholics.

I didn’t say that violent reactions from Muslims wouldn’t occur.

I was pointing out that your link didn’t show any sort of aggressive response from the responders outside of known extremist organizations.

I then concluded with the assertion that a violent reaction from Muslims for is no more surprising than a violent reaction from Christians for burning the bible simply because people lose all rational thought simply because of their religious beliefs. And it is not limited to Muslims.

Finally, speaking of the lack of hardcore Christians to be afraid of; need we bring up the KKK? And we still don’t know who burned down the Tennessee mosque.

There are major differences in organized religions that those who hate religion can not see.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam were all born in the same region. Judaism and Christianity are based on the compilation of many books over many years. The major difference being the New Testament to the Bible. I do not know of any battles between Christians and Jews over that split but I’m sure there were many.

Islam is based on the writings of one man (Muhammad) in one book. There have been many well known battles between Islam, Christianity and Judaism. Islam also calls for sharia law. A political system adopted by many Islamic countries. So Islam is more than just a religion it is law in some lands.

While we freely allow Islam to be practiced in our country there is no parity. I believe our society is better because of our freedoms. That’s why I don’t try to compare apples and oranges when looking at the world view.

Then again there’s always someone who picks out one incident and then paints the whole basket of apples the color orange.

So when a right-wing politician tells me the USA is a Christian nation and should be run under Biblical principles, I have nothing to worry about, right?

The real problem here is that God is the biggest terrorist that exists. I mean, he ruined poor Job’s life life just to win a bet against the devil. And don’t forget what he did to Sodom and Gamorrah. Not to mention he flooded the entire planet just because he got pissed off.

Seriously. He’s a cold blooded killer.

John – America was founded by people who wanted religious freedom among other things.

Debunked – If you believe in eternal life then God didn’t kill anybody. He’s just recycling…

So Terry, when a politician tells me they plan to implement their faith in law, they’re terrrrists trying to take over our way of life because they hate religious freedom? Sarah Palin is just like a Secret Muslim?

The best I can make of your comment John is that you think of Sarah Palin quite a lot. A crush?

“If you believe in eternal life then God didn’t kill anybody. He’s just recycling…”

By that logic nobody was killed in the 9/11 attacks either. They were just recycled.

    We’ll never know.
