From the wikipedia page on “Urinals”…

“Some establishments, often bars, pubs, or nightclubs, fill their urinals with ice cubes during peak hours. As the ice melts, it serves to slowly flush the urinal, and also cools the urine to prevent smells from rising during use.”

I just thought it was something to aim at.

I like to aim and melt… I think it keeps people from missing the intended target!

Urea has a high salt content and would rust and/or clog pipes if not flushed enough. One of the highest costs associated with public urinals is having to fix clogged/rusted plumbing.

Although most guys, with enough booze in ’em, would probably miss anyway.

Or could it have something to do with Larry Craig?

[…] Elliot asks a pertinent restroom question. After all that beer, it’s definitely time to melt some ice. […]

Long ago, mid-morning. The guy says to his latest pelvic affiliate, “Psst. C’mere. You ever see this?”

Young blonde gets up and peeks into the Men’s Room. Astonished, she walks in to get a closer look. “Do they make all of the ice in the urinals?” she asks.

I couldn’t look either one of them in the eye after that.
