Once again, the French surrender!

July 13th, 2006

Bastille Days, viagra sales sovaldi sale a French-themed street festival in downtown Milwaukee is giving up the annoying (and faintly fraudulent) practice of using tickets instead of cash for paying for food and drinks during the event.

Why was this practice so despised?

Because there always seemed to be a mismatch between how many tickets you had and how many tickets something cost. Inevitably you’d end up with three dollars+ worth of unspent tickets in your pocket and the sense that you would have been better off if you’d just converted the money to Euros instead.

I was just in Chicago and they sold tickets in 11 ticket packets (Taste of Chicago) for $7.00. A couple left the beer line in front of me and they handed me 1 ticket as they were leaving. Sure enough, we ended up handing that 1 ticket off to someone else.

Most things that would come close to a meal were typically 8 tix as was a beer. Nibbles were typically 3 tix each.
