Oh say, Frank can’t see….

Frank Deford of Sport Illustrated has an essay on NPR today where he suggested we should stop playing the Star-Spangled Banner at the beggining of sporting events.

He said the tradition trivalized our national anthem.

What I think Mr. Deford fails to understand is that most Americans would never hear the national anthem if it weren’t played at sporting events.

I LOVE that the Star Spangled Banner is played before a game.

I stand everytime, generic cialis buy viagra find the flag with my eyes, viagra canada cialis and put my hand over my heart.

I swear I have tears in my eyes by the time I have the words “and the home of the brave” in my mouth.

In fact, as far as I’m concerned, the only thing of real, lasting value that occurs at a sporting event is the singing of the national anthem.
