This is the proposed blurb for the back cover of The Abortionist. What do you think? Would this persuade you to read the book?

The last paragraph may come off as a bit too gritty, but I think that it may work.

Works well, in my opinion. I’m still waiting for Chapter 2. :)

I love, love, LOVE the portion of your book that I have read, and your back cover seems to describe things perfectly. I think you might consider shortening the question posed at the end, though. It seems kind of wordy. No, I don’t know how I would shorten it, and yes, I do see the irony of ME saying that something is too wordy.

Thank you, Wendy. My buddy Caughill is working as fast as he can at getting it done so that you can read it and vent your inevitable disappointment. ;)

I hear that your buddy Caughill has been working on other stuff, too, that may be distracting him from writing. Congratulations!

First… congrats (I’ve been reading comments on other sites ;)

Second… I agree with Wendy and Clint. The first two paragraphs are great. I LOVE the last half of the last sentence! The abortion-realated tie in is superb! “The Abortionist isn’t a choice, it’s a must-read.” “The answer will challenge your beliefs or confirm your convictions, and either way you will no doubt decide that The Abortionist isn’t a choice, it’s a must-read.”

Whoops… I put an arrow in there using a carrot and it hid half of my response…

This is how that comment should have read:

I would, however, replace the passive language in the first half of the last sentence and be more forward. It almost sounds as if you don’t have all the confidence that you should about the readers’ captivation with your story.

Example, “The answer will challenge your beliefs or confirm your convictions, and either way you will no doubt decide that The Abortionist isn’t a choice, it’s a must-read.”
