Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!

Congratulations to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane for bringing up the Keating Five just 12 days after I asked “How much longer will it be before we hear the words: Keating Five?”:

“Maverick” credentials aside, viagra canada ambulance I see precious little evidence McCain is ready to take on the momentous task of cleaning up the system of government in Washington DC at his advanced age. Particularly given his dubious history with the Keating Five, sildenafil treatment which seems to have been forgotten by most media during this presidential election.

Actually… Megan McArdle mentioned it last night… and she’s a Libertarian:

“The words “I fought corruption” should never pass the lips of a charter member of the Keating Five.”

I can’t be everywhere at all times, my friend. I’m only fictional.

(And, an honest question: I thought McCain basically got out of that with nothing more than innuendo. Was he ever indicted?)

And by the way, thanks for commenting. It’s been a little slow around here, today.

With only Grumps chiming in, I thought maybe I had lost my talent for saying things that needed correcting! ;)

A Senate ethics investigation found that 3 of the 5 had interfered with the investigation into Lincoln Savings Financial.

McCain and John Glenn (the other two) were cleared by the committee, but were criticized by the ethics investigators for “poor judgement”. Basically the two of them participated in some group meetings with the other three, and with regulators that gave the impression of impropriaty, but they never intervened themselves on the behalf the the S&L.

McCain and Glenn were the only two to bother running for re-election. Nobody was indicted.
