Is “Chris” really the best “C” name we can come up with for a hurricane?

August 2nd, 2006

It looks like tropical storm Chris is about to become a hurricane.

I feel like the name “Chris” does not connote the proper amount of menace for a good hurricane name.

Why didn’t they try “Clint?” (After all, viagra buy cialis who wouldn’t fear a hurricane that asked “Do yah feel lucky, decease punk?”)

Or “Castro.” (That would scare the crap out of the Cuban community in Miami. “Oh no, Castro is coming!”)

Or, for our friends on the left, we could even choose a variation of the scariest name they can think of…”Carl.”

    How about Hurricane Crap?

After all… most people in the path of the storm will already be saying “Oh Crap!” when they hear the news of its approach. We might as well make it official.

We should name them after objects that we already fear… like “Hurricane Credit Card Bills” or “Hurricane The Clap.”

I think is a beautiful name for a violent storm.

Hurricane Castro — that’s good! If only those storm namers (is that the technical name for them?!) had the balls to do that.

I can only imagine how that would go over in the Cuban community in Miami, should they only catch the tail end of that Hurricane announcement on the news.

” …. Castro is headed straight for Miami.”

Bruce… at least we wouldn’t have to worry that people in South Florida wouldn’t heed evacuation calls then.
