I’m saving this quote for later

October 20th, 2008

Barack Obama said:

“I promise you this: not only will the middle class get a tax cut under my plan, viagra usa pharm but if you make less than $250,000 a year — which includes 98 percent of small business owners — you won’t see your taxes increase one single dime,” said the Illinois senator. “Not your payroll taxes, not your income taxes, not your capital gains taxes — nothing. That is my commitment to you.”

And I promise you this: If Barack Obama becomes President, the day will come when one of those taxes will go up and I’ll be able to link back to this post.

(And if it’s Congress that raises one of those taxes and Obama only signs it into law, it will still count as a broken promise.)

    Cuts, cuts, cuts.

I’m still wanting somebody to explain how we’re going to pay down the public debt when everybody promises tax cuts. Somebody needs to start digging us out of this monetary hole that Reagan put us in.

I thought Clinton dug us out of the Reagan hole?

Clinton ran a rather small surplus for a few years. He in no way, shape or form removed the extremely massive national debt that began under Reagan’s misguided tax cut Laffer curve adoration coupled with the military budget increase.

But then, I’m going to guess you already know all this and were just being somewhat facetious in your response.

This does not excite me but this is what the IRS has to say.

The tax statutes were re-codified by an Act of Congress on February 10, 1939 as the “Internal Revenue Code” (later known as the “Internal Revenue Code of 1939”). The 1939 Code was published as volume 53, Part I, of the United States Statutes at Large and as title 26 of the United States Code. Subsequent permanent tax laws enacted by the United States Congress updated and amended the 1939 Code.

ALL taxes are theft. The government will continue to take more money from the rich AND middle class as long as we are okay with the idea of services provided at the barrel of a gun. Propaganda is the only thing propping up the idea of government.
