I’m not surprised they have “Superior” in their name.

Lake Superior State University has released their list of banished words for 2007.
It includes words I find annoying like “PWNED” as well as phrases that are redundant or unnecessary such as “now playing in theaters.”
At heart, viagra buy store this is just more elitist grammar bullshit.
Language is alive and, like any living thing, it is sometimes going to do stuff that annoys you. Get over it.
Hat tip to Shark and Shepherd who completely disagrees with me on this one.

I could be a language elitist (I think grammar matters), but I also love language, agree that it’s alive and appreciate it when it is nuanced or colorful. For example, I think ghetto slang or Ebonics or whatever you want to call it is fascinating, inventive and sometimes even poetic. But the stuff we are talking about here are just cliches or sloppy uses of perfectly good words.
