But I have one thing to say to people who would write headlines like:

Bush’s Secret Dictatorship

…dictators don’t lose elections.

Twitter aside, it’s not easy to pack complex ideas into headlines. Says the link, “This theory of presidential power argues, in essence, that when the President acts in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief, he may make his own rules and cannot be bound by Congressional laws to the contrary. This is a theory of presidential dictatorship.”

Like I said, I’m not thrilled with a lot W was doing (I despise signing orders, for example), but I think there is legitimate room for debate concerning a President’s latitude in a time of war.

And honestly, Caligula Bush was not. ;)
