I think REAL polls and surveys are bullshit

October 19th, 2007

So imagine what I think of an ON-LINE poll that has 88% of respondents saying Rep. Stark should not apologize for the things he said about our troops in Iraq.

I could care less about whether the man apologizes or not, discount viagra seek I do care that an endlessly repeatable, recipe open, mind completely non-scientific poll should be cited as proof of ANYTHING.

One of my pet peeves is when a blogger will quote another blogger’s opinion, and treats that opinion as if it was a fact. Just because one can find another person who thinks alike, that isn’t proof that your premise was accurate to begin with.

[. . .] for the things he said about our troops in Iraq.

Which part was about the troops? I watched the youtube, and Stark’s words seem directed at Republicans and Bush.

I was under the impression that the “blow up innocent people” part applied to the troops. Unless, Bush and Cheney are sneaking over to Iraq at night to blow people up?

But I’m certainly not trying to make a case against Stark. My point was about the validity of voluntary polls.

Considering it’s the Commie News Network, of course their watchers are going to be against Stark apologizing. Not a surprise.
