I like guns

June 23rd, 2008

And I like toys.

But I don’t like toy guns that look like the real thing.

Cops lives are tough enough without making them try to decide if the assault rifle in the 14-year-old’s hands is real or a toy.

Yeah, damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Either lose your life by hesitating and being shot, or have your life ruined by shooting a kid with a toy.

Of course, teaching kids not to point guns at cops is a good first step.

I think this is a perfect example of how outlawing private ownership of guns is a good thing. If there’s no chance a citizen will have a gun, then the liklihood of a police officer having to make the distinction is eliminated.

“I think this is a perfect example of how outlawing private ownership of guns is a good thing.”

And how would that help? Since when did a criminal obey the law? If you think simply banning something will make it disappear, you are living in a fool’s paradise.

Bob, I didn’t have time to sit around waiting for the call to ban gun ownership based on this, so I just went ahead and did it myself. Figured I’d save us all the pain.
