Or…we could adopt a sensible tax plan that returns us to the Clinton-era rates that delivered a balanced budget. We could find the stomach to pay for the programs we need to rise above our third-world infant mortality rates. We could stop defending the entire world and concentrate on strengthening our domestic protections.
Just sayin.

How many billion a week are we spending on war outside our borders?

The Clinton-era rates wont even make a down payment on the increased spending, by both parties, since 9/11. There are billions of dollars in annual spending that could be cut without sacrificing safety. Our infant mortality rates are not going to drop by increasing the size of the hammock we have for the poor. It is a wonder why we pay to have so many troops in friendly countries.
They are our friends now that Bush is gone, right?

Okay. Terry says, “Chop the military budget and stop propping up other armies.”

Come now, Grumps. Military spending has nothing to do with the nation’s predicament.
