I agree with you, Elliot. Not her fault that she was dragged here as a child. She should have the same opportunities as those with the birthright, so long as she learned the language, did not commit any violent crimes, and graduated high school.

“If the DREAM Act doesn’t pass before he graduates, he said, “I’m going back to Mexico to work and go to school.” Absolutely brilliant idea. How ’bout putting some of the taxpayer education to use to improve Mexico?

It is amazing that racism and bigotry causes so many people to oppose this act. These people are Americans who have studied hard and want to better their life by going to school. Their only fault was they were born to parents who chose to come here illegally. This girl came here at the age of 5. She likely has almost no memory of her time in Mexico. What do we accomplish by deporting a person such as her? Some people are so blinded by bigotry that they refuse to see anything.

I don’t think it’s necessarily bigotry, Tim. A lot of people think illegal immigration is wrong by it’s nature. I’m one of them. But I think these kids fall into a very unfair crack. I don’t think they should be punished for decisions they didn’t make.

Here is my question some of these kids were in the US for over a decade have they made any attempt to be come citizens

One of my best friends spent a ton of money and years to immigrate here legally

So I have problems with people who came here illegally but want to be treated like the immigrants who played by the rules and waited in line. This girl knew she was an illegal but made no effort to become a citizen.

Hey I feel sorry who kids who grow up in poverty due to bad choices by their parents but that does not mean they are above the law.

And just because a person is against illegal immigrants does not make the racist but that is what the left does they call us racist or Nazis or fill in the blank never argue the case just sling mud.

    don’t even bother replying Tim

What steps could a child take to become citizen? What options to get legal status were available to her that she refused to take advantage of?
