Feingold more foolish than I thought he was.

March 12th, 2006

Regardless of the merits of Russ Feingold’s call to have President Bush censured, cialis prescription it’s just dumb politics.

Someone needs to tell Russ he’s not running against President Bush.

He’s running against Hillary Clinton.

And if a miracle happens and he get’s past Hillary he’s gonna have John McCain to deal with.

Using the wiretaps to posture himself as the anti-Bush candidate doesn’t help him, search it hurts him.

Let’s add it up:

Negatives:
1.) Being against the wiretaps makes him look soft on terrorists.
2.) It looks like the nakedly political move of a future presidential candidate.
3.) It aint’ gonna happen, treatment so the whole thing just makes him look ineffectual.

POSITIVES:
1.) The far left will love his antics.

As you can see, the negatives outnumber the positives.

The problem is, he’s already the left’s candidate.

Continually playing to them just makes him seem too liberal to lead.

If I were Russ Feingold, I’d keep in mind that George Bush is a lame duck.

The bird Russ Feingold needs to worry about is the closest thing the Democratic party has to a hawk: Hillary Clinton.

But we want Feingold to run. That will force Shrillary more to the left.

Senator Russ Feingold Supports Sharia Law for Americans…

Russ Feingold, the person who didn’t have the foresight to see the negative repercussions of the McCain-Feingold act, must be in favor of Sahria law for all. Why else would Feingold put himself so squarely in the terrorist’s corner?

    I’m not so sure, Clint.

As I wrote here, I think Hillary WANTS Feingold to run against her because it makes her seem centrist by comparison.

I wouldnt be so sure that McCain will win the GOP nomination I can tell one conservative who will sit the general election out if McCain is the GOP nominie.

Just conventional wisdom, Chris. (Which means it’s almost certainly wrong.)

However, I’d vote for ANY republican you could name before letting Hillary or Russ get a free shot at the presidency.

The reason that it would force Shillary to the left is to pander to the hard base of the Dems. She has to make it through the primaries before the general election
