It’s could be better than that. He makes waves in the primaries and pulls the eventual nominee (which, if the Dems want to win, should be Warner, but will be Clinton) to the left. This helps our guy get through. (my fav is Sam Brownback, but I realize that is fantasy.) In the course of all that he gets roughed up and, maybe, someone has a chance to beat him in ’10.

I share your sentiments. Actually, I had said something similar in January.
