Every time I think I finally have a low enough opinion of humankind…

…I run into a story like this:

tadalafil for sale 2933,460626,00.html”> 6 Teens Charged in Nursing Home Abuse

According to the criminal complaint, the teens laughed earlier this year as they spat in residents’ mouths, poked and groped their breasts and genitals and at times taunted them until they screamed.

It sickens me that these turd stains will likely get off with a slap on the wrist. Why wouldn’t the assault charges be sexual assault? What a screwed up society. A 7 year old kid pats another on the butt and he or she is hauled in for sexual assault. Why not these turds? Which, of course, means they’ll laugh about it once it’s all over. How pathetic does a person have to be to get their jollies from doing such things?

Let me talk to them. Leave me alone, close the door, and let me talk.

I could not even bring myself to read the rest of the article. I have no words.

Sorry, Jimi. I can’t leave you alone. I am joining you. You and me…and them.

    OMG. I third that.

BTW – turds are a bit nice of a term for these scum buckets. Even scum buckets doesn’t apply.

I’m not sure I can think of an appropriate term…

Nor can I. Which is why is used turds. I’m not one to use cavalierly use foul language. But, by turd, I mean shit. Shitbag more accurately describes these . . . shitbags. As you said, if there’s a better word for them, I can’t think of it either.

I fourth that – this is truly disgusting behavior. There really are no words…how can people be such animals???

Better a neutral assessment of mankind. We’re an animal species capable of the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ of other animals.

That said, blows me away that anyone is considering suspended sentences. Isn’t the punishment for sexual assault a few years in jail and another 5 or 10 on a sex offender list?

We’re not all bad, but sometimes the “good” seems awfully few and far between.

I don’t know, I think it depends where you look. Every day billions of humans are taking care of their young, for much longer periods than most species. Additionally, we generally (though obviously not always) take care of our own elders — done by very few species indeed. These are niceties of humanity we take for granted. We don’t see headlines reading “Another day goes by where no human ate his own children but rather millions fed and comforted their kids” — this would be big news in, say, the frog world.

We aren’t perfect, but we aren’t so bad either. We’re just humans doing what humans do…and probably could do a bit better.

And, yeah, some of us — like these two — should probably be locked away until old enough that they can’t eat their own young.
