Eugene can’t see the forest for the Bush.

September 19th, 2006

In an online post, cialis canada cialis Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane blames George Bush for the likelihood that things in Iraq are:

“…not likely to get much better in most of our lifetimes…”

But I can’t help pointing out that the real reason things probably won’t get much better in Iraq is the same reason that things probably won’t get much better in Milwaukee’s inner city: a few assholes would much rather kill each other (along with a bunch of innocents) than settle their disputes like decent human beings.

Kane is doubly wrong. Things are already much better for Iraqis. Their dictatorial leader is in jail, and they can seek free medical help at coalition hospitals as well as enjoy education for their children.

Most importantly, they can choose to fight, and for whom they fight.

If Kane wants to look at the real gloom and doom, he’s about four years too late. He’s counting on everyone else’s memories to be as poor as he is willfully blind.
