Why isn’t it a conflict of interest when people who work for the government vote for the people who run that government?

Doesn’t taxation of a government paycheck constitute double-taxation of the same money? I’ll agree with yours if you’ll agree with mine.

I’ve actually always thought it was strangely circular that Governments taxed the people they paid. Why not just pay them less?

Because then you’d have people griping about how we don’t pay taxes.

Just because a person works for a governmental body, does that mean they give up their rights?
