Christmas shopping at work?

November 25th, 2007

In a story from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, tadalafil pharm I read the following quote:

The Monday after Thanksgiving, buy cialis tagged “Cyber Monday” by the National Retail Federation, marks the first big online shopping surge for many merchants, as consumers go back to their work computers.

    Easy solution for local admins…..

    Pop in a

    127.0.0.1 => bestbuy.com
    127.0.0.1 => http://www.bestbuy.com

    in the local hosts file
    and for every other major retailer :)

    Most staff folk don’t know where the hosts file is kept….

    It will drive the folks nutty wondering why they can’t get to their shopping sites…..and when they call the helpdesk, the obvious question will be…well why do you need to get to that site anyway?

    I solved the dilemna by deciding not to get anyone anything this year. And it’s made me so much happier. :)
