Calling something a mess is easy, calling for the courage to clean it up is difficult.

In a blog entry today, tadalafil discount Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane ridiculed George Bush for wanting to “stay the course” in Iraq.

Mr. Kane said:

Frankly, click I’m tired of hearing him declare we won’t leave Iraq “as long as I’m president”. That’s easy for him to say since he’s outa there at the end of his term.

The rest of us have to live with this mess.

First off, how is Mr. Kane “living” with this “mess?” Is he being shot at? Is he doing without nylons or planting a Victory Garden? I humbly submit that Mr. Kane’s life hasn’t changed one bit due to the invasion of Iraq…other than give him a great deal of fodder for his weekly columns.

Secondly, this is just another criticism of current policy without a single constructive idea on how to actually deal with Iraq.

I might agree that getting into Iraq in the first place was a bad idea…that’s old news…so now what do we do?

Just waving the white flag and running for home will once again prove to the Middle East that the U.S. has no stomach for anything that distracts us from our TIVOs for more than ten minutes at a time. As we saw with Hezbollah, any victory short of complete victory is no victory in the eyes of the people in the Middle East.

If “staying the course” is not a good plan, having absolutely no plan is no better.
