Another difference between Conservatives and Liberals

April 13th, 2006

On WPR this morning, cialis canada sickness I heard an advocate for New Orleans say the Federal government had failed New Orleans by building inadequate levees and should therefore provide the city with massive amounts of aid including a huge jobs program.

Liberals always think the answer to bad government is more government.

Conservatives know that just means more bad government.

I guess said advocate forgot about the mismanagement of funds given to the levee commission. Why were some of those funds use for a walking bridge and a water fountain? I’d like to see a FULL audit of where those Taxpayer funds went over the last, say, 15 years. It would be interesting, wouldn’t you say?

Sometimes I think the knee-jerk conservative response to “government” (good or bad) is “no government at all.”

I say we put the taxes for the top 1% of Americans back to Clinton-era levels. That should eliminate the deficit and pay for all our hurricane disaster efforts no problem. Clearly taxation at that level wasn’t disastrous for the economy. Perhaps you remember the 90s? Period of unprecedented economic boom? I think it’s doable.

Actually – It’s not just Clinton, Scott. It was a Republican Congress too. And- FYI – It’s been provent that the best combo in goverment for the economy is a democratic Pres and a Republican congress. Why? Yah… I’m not so sure. I didn’t do the research. Anyway… Just thought I’d bring that up.
