You can (and the previous administration DID) kiss business’s ass and you will still see the jobs outsourced and the benefits shrivel to nothing.

On the other hand, kissing business’s ass as a year-round campaign strategy will get your party’s coffers filled with sweet, sweet corporate cash. Hence, the Republican strategy/ideology.

    Just win, baby.

I believe business/Wall Street actually gave more to Democrats last go around. (http://articles.latimes.com/2008/mar/21/nation/na-wallstdems21)

Not all the Democrat’s money comes in the form of $2 donations from little old ladies and college students. ;)

Simple, shrewd strategy by Wall Street and the banks:

“The flow of campaign cash is a measure of how open-fisted banks and other financial institutions have been to politicians of both parties. Concern is rising that ‘no matter who the Democratic nominee is and who wins in November, Wall Street will have a friend in the White House,’ said Massie Ritsch of the nonprofit Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks campaign donations. ‘The door will be open to these big banks.'”

In other words: Why buy the GOP cow when you already get their milk for free?

The brave GOP; making the hard decisions. Cough-cough ….
