If you’re so convinced that the nation isn’t “center-right” than have some balls and call yourself what you are: a “liberal.”

That old “afraid to call themselves liberal” trope doesn’t hold water.

If conservatives want to demonize a word and glorify their own moniker by using both terms out of context, it’s perfectly legit to abandon that tired, Limbaughed tag in favor of another that is more descriptive of the movement and attitude.

I mean, how would you want a person to, for instance, carry your baby – – “conservatively” or “liberally”? Gosh – – “Conservative” sounds so much more sensible and safe!

Do I want someone carrying my baby “progressively”? That doesn’t sound so bad; brings to mind one of those fancy-schmancy “infant carriers” that let you safely carry the child while keeping your hands free to save the world and stuff.

So, progressive may equal liberal, but don’t resent those who prefer to use more precise language.

Yeah and what about us unrepentant lefties?

While I refer to myself as a progressive, I’m not ashamed to say I’m a liberal.

I’m a half-assed libertarian and proud of it.

Hell, if libertarians can be proud, anyone can.
