Thank you, Mr. President!

November 8th, 2009 Elliot

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane apparently thinks everybody in America owes their job to President Obama.

It's still too early to suggest the stimulus plan didn't work, but there's nothing wrong with pointing out some of the numbers to date appear to have been rigged.

A more simple evaluation is this: If you still have the same job you had at the beginning of the year, Obama's stimulus package did work for you.

Even during the Great Depression, unemployment didn’t get above 25%, but it’s nice to know that we just dodged an unemployment rate of 100% thanks to President Obama!

How this idiot stays employed is beyond my ability to comprehend.

I can’t decide if he’s talking to just the black community with that statement or not.

If so, then I would advocate there is probably an element of truth to it.

If not, then the statement is bat-shit crazy.

Fred, would you talk like that if you were standing in a room with Eugene? Or do you only maintain that bluster when you’re on the Internets?

I’ll take the opportunity to speak for two people!

Knowing Fred, I do not think we would offer that opinion unsolicited to Kane were they standing next to one another in the same room. However, having met Kane in a bar and finding him to be somewhat of an arrogant jerk and, again, knowing Fred, I’m willing to say his opinion would make itself known and there’d be no bluster about it.

It’s that respect for civility, real debate, open discourse, and personal expression that led to Fred’s decision to block me and other commenters from RDW, I assume.
