I’m an agnostic

But I try never to make fun of other people’s religions.

For one thing, I can never be sure which one will turn out to be true.

But, I have to admit, before reading Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith, I had no idea that Mormonism was quite as wacky as it seems.

Plus, considering fundamentalist Mormons’ predilection for polygamy, I still don’t understand why the religion isn’t called Morwomen.

    I’m an apathetic agnostic–don’t know, don’t care.

Don’t believe everything you read about the Mormons. I’ve lived around them 50+ years, and they aren’t as bad as most people think. I’ve found them a lot easier to get along with than Baptists and Jehovah Witnesses.

I read that book, too, and I was surprised. The book is about the fundamentalists mostly, if I remember correctly, but the very foundations of the religion are odd. I admit that reading the book made me question my own religion and its origins, as well.

Look, I’m a believer, but all religions probably have their kooks and odd ones, Christianity certainly has. There are things that have happened that have had me shaking my head.
