..before you think pretending to be a FEMA agent so that you can steal from disaster victims is a good idea?
Fond du Lac County residents are reporting that people falsely identifying themselves as Federal Emergency Management Agency officials are asking to inspect homes.
FEMA officials said today there are no teams in the Fond du Lac area. FEMA inspection teams carry photo ID, and residents are urged to always ask to see this ID before allowing someone to inspect a home. FEMA also doesn’t charge money to inspect a home.
To find out if FEMA teams are in an area, residents may contact their County Emergency Management Office.
